WHY A VALUATION?
Insurance is the most common reason for having goods valued because policies are only safe providing they are based on an accurate assessment of what you own. If disaster strikes, it merely adds insult to injury if you are not in a position to replace your loss.
Employing the services of a professionally qualified valuation house like Manor House Fine Arts ensures that all the requirements of your insurance company will be met. Clients receive bound valuation reports in duplicate, together with image inventories on CD of items valued (video surveys are also available, if requested). In the event of a claim, Clients are able to provide comprehensive photographic records and certificates of existence and authenticity which will satisfy Loss Adjusters and Insurers.
As well as being a prudent measure, the one-off cost of a professional valuation report (when looked at in the context of at least three years peace of mind) represents exceedingly good value for money. Manor House Fine Arts has perfected an after-sales service which takes account of any acquisitions and disposals that occur in a normal household. This attention to detail maintains the accuracy of the original report (so important if the need to make an insurance claim arises), in addition to offering the professional support often necessary in this situation.
Using Manor House Fine Arts is a guarantee that a valuation has been undertaken by a qualified individual who holds adequate Professional Indemnity insurance. As a member of the National Association of Valuers & Auctioneers (NAVA), Manor House Fine Arts is part of an extensive network of specialist valuers. This ability to access a rich nationwide pool of knowledge ensures any report will be as comprehensive as possible and, moreover, that the valuer has worked within the NAVA’s strict Code of Conduct.
PROBATE (FAIR MARKET VALUE) VALUATIONS
At Manor House Fine Arts, all Probate work is undertaken in accordance with Inland Revenue requirements of the S160 Inheritance Tax Act 1984 and the IHT200(ALL)/30. Work includes a CD containing the report and photographic support evidence, plus completion of the IHT200 return.
Manor House Fine Arts, having an association with Peter Francis Auctioneers of Carmarthen through the same professional body (NAVA), is able to offer a post-Probate service. If required, the sale of commercially suitable goods by Public Auction can be organised and final house clearance / clean-down arranged where necessary.
